BERMAP - Business, Educational and Research
Cooperation between Institutions of Northern Finland and Northwest Russia
The BERMAP
project creates prerequisites for the development and expansion
of business, education and research cooperation between the
higher educational institutions and companies of Northern
Finland and Northwest Russia. The direct aim of the project
is to increase cooperation in practical level between University
of Oulu, Oulu Polytechnic, Murmansk and Arkhangelsk State
Technical Universities, and Petrozavodsk State University.
The project is divided
into three sections – education, research and business.
1) Educational and Research sectors
- selecting and prioritizing the possible
topics of educational and research
cooperation
- writing the educational and research cooperation plan
2) Business sector
- market analysis in North-West Russia
in the field of environmental
technology
- knowledge and information transfer workshops
for the companies of Barents region
A joint plan of research and educational cooperation will
be set up for and carried out by the region's universities,
which extends to year 2010. A model of cooperation will be
created for the environmental enterprises of the Barents region,
which serves as an example for other branches as well.
