Development of Continued
Education Programme for EU Enterprises in Kostomuksha (CEPEK)
The two year long CEPEK-project, which is financed from the
European Union's Tacis programme, supports the European enterprises operating
in the city of Kostamuksha. Several western companies have
established their facilities in the area, but the question
of skilled labour is causing problems for many of them. One
way, how the companies can face these challenges, is to
retrain their workers, offer them continued education.
The goal of the project is to establish a continued education
programme at the Kostomuksha Branch of PetrSU. The project will be carried out in cooperation
with Finnish
experts and teachers from the Petrozavodsk State University
and the Kostamuksha Branch of
PetrSU. First of all, the aim is to update the knowledges of
the participating Russian teachers about the modern western business
concepts. Then the teachers, together with their Finnish
collagues, will plan and test the programme in practice. Workers
of the OOO AEK and OOO Elektrokos, Russian affiliates of the
PKC Group, will take part in this education, which forms
the second part of the project. Lectures will be given on
general economy and economic theory, production management
and planning, business culture and work community.
The general aim of the project is to improve the possibilities
of the western companies to operate in the Kostomuksha area.
With the establishement of a continued education programme,
the area has a modern, tested, educational tool at its
disposal, which will increase competence of the workers and
will
benefit the companies and the society at large. The
area will attract new investments, as the companies are able
to retrain their workers. The role of the Kostomuksha branch of PetrSU
will be strengthened, the branch will serve the needs of the
local business life and society to a greater degree.
