An Educational Programme in Sanitary Engineering for the Murmansk Region

The project will last for four years. The University of Oulu is giving its expertise both to master degree education at the Murmansk State Technical University and to continuing education of professionals. The University of Oulu is represented in the project by the Laboratory of Water and Environment Technology with leadership of Professor Esko Lakso and NorTech Oulu (former Arctic Technology Centre) as a project coordinator. The MSTU will be responsible for the general and subject studies. Professor Lakso will be responsible at the beginning for the advanced studies. Mr. Lakso is also assisting in establishing the programme. After the end of the project in year of 2003, the MSTU will continue the educational programme on its own.
