I'm the King of the world is an eco-city game developed by NorTech Oulu, which was launched during the University of Oulu's Science Day 10.9.2013. It is a science-based team game, the objective of which is to build an eco-city. Teams of 4-6 have limited time, space and resources to construct their city. The building blocks of the city are as follows:

For each of these, there are several options from which the teams can choose. The teams need to decide on their selection, based on their land-use expanse and price. There is a limited space to fill and a limited starting budget, so the teams need to weigh their solutions carefully. The solutions are graded by the level of their sustaiability 1-3 gold stars. The winning team will be the one who collects the most gold stars, while satisfies all the criteria set for eco-cities. Stars can also be lost, if there is no balance among the solutions. For example there are critical services, which need to be available for all citizens, such as food, energy, waste management and water services. As well, adult citizens need to have jobs and the young need to have all levels of schooling options. Here you can find the description of the game rules:

The game will be played next time after the Building eco-cities seminar, which is the final seminar of the Greensettle (Green cities and settlements) project.

Below, you can find a report of the previous times the game was played.
