Advancing Research and Education in Energy Field at the
University of Oulu (EnePro)
When the energy strategy of Northern Ostrobothnia was updated in
2007, it was recognized that the main way to reach targets
of energy and climate policy is to support technological
development. The role of the University of Oulu has been
highlighted as key, through advancement in research and also
education in the field of energy, as well as through active
collaboration with industry and the other research and
academic institutions. One vision of the strategy is to
create an innovation and investment environment in the field
of energy in Northern Ostrobothnia which, in turn, will
help the energy sector to become a success factor.
The aim of the project is to support
realization of the energy strategy by 1) focusing and innovating
education in energy field at the University of Oulu, 2) network building between research institutions and
enterprises.
During this project, information on on-going research in the energy
field at the University of
Oulu is collected and efforts will be made to enhance
collaboration within and beyond the university, and improve
the visibility and availability of energy reseearch.
The concluding event of the project was the
EnePro conference.
